Son of Frederick ('Fred') George and Florence (née McMurray) Blake of Chester Street, London. His father, Fred, was born in London, England; his mother, Florence, was born in Norfolk, England


Leading Aircraftman Vernon Arthur Blake is commemorated on Page 24 of Canada's Second World War Book of Remembrance.

He is also commemorated by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission.
